How wasteful…! Kaala could have just taken over the temple and replaced the blood pit with a basin of sea water or something.
smashing it sends a clearer message about the change in divine leadership though.
Showing up with the old dude’s life-blood on her hands seems pretty convincing by itself, though?
No that just says there’s a new boss. Nothing says “Things are going to work differently around here,” like personally razing your predecessor’s preferred place and method of communion to the ground.
3rd panel looks great
A basin of blood just seems like one bad accident away from sticky itcky stinky matted fur. Blood outside the body is nasty.
Also, it clots unless you keep refreshing it or add an anticoagulant. Neither of which would say good things about that temple.
I would think the divine magic of the monster god kept it fresh all the time.
Why said, “one bad accident.” Fresh in the basin, has a corollary.
Not if he expected his faithful to keep it topped up as a sign of their faith in him.
Lyrestra could join their next moon light dance.
In fairness to Nyna, Kaala was friendly with her village but also didn’t entirely seem to know how to be a god either. Kaala didn’t exactly command godly obedience or even have a widespread connection with followers beyond that village. So things like an organized place or method of worship for the god of monsters are seemingly not developed – likely to Kaala’s detriment.
It might be funny to see Lyrestra and Kaala forming friendly ties over their shared connection to Kaylin, and possibly even giving Kaala some godhood tips.
For the moment, this almost sounds like a test for Kaylin – by leaving the where/when/how of the meeting up to her, Lyrestra will get to see what kind of mind her dark elf adventurer has. What ideas will Kaylin have and how much will she think about her answer?
