First guess – bottled exp, somehow extracted from monsters. Some games have that as an item already, but guessing from context that this game didn’t.
Second guess – The bottle is something they tried to create that will only work and become ‘real’ and identified if an adventurer puts their hand on it and then waits 24 hours.
Anything he says while charmed probably isn’t usable as evidence, but Kaylin could get more answers this way. And maybe get him to point her to something that is ACTUALLY usable as evidence. Question is whether this is the kind of charm that doesn’t let him act at all, or if it’s just forced friendly until she pushes things too far.
