Henry gets to ask the practical questions. He’s the straight man in this encounter, likely much to his frustration. The years as Callum’s caretaker may have given him an unreasonable expectation that being around Adventurers isn’t as chaotic as the stories described. And then Kaylin showed up followed by the fake archmage, and in rapid succession ‘normality’ fell apart.
… The reason I say all this, is that with Kaylin handing out Adventurer gear and now Callum crafting it, there’s a very real chance that Kaylin’s bluff doesn’t have to be one at all! There can indeed be others ‘like her’ (to a lesser extent) to back things up when she isn’t around. So I REALLY hope that, as a longtime associate of Callum, Henry will get SOMETHING for himself so he can have a little more confidence amidst the world-shaking forces that are now part of his life :p

Kaylin certainly knows “people” who can level the city if the need should arise.
If anyone thinks that she is not a fierce
Enough force of one to be obeyed, Nina can casually introduce them to her mom and her best friend!

Henry… Henry, Henry, Henry- note that Kaylin said “someone will eventually ASSUME [that] numbers will overcome …” she didn’t say they were right. Her owner’s maid is an undefeated raid boss. Kaylin herself probably can mow down hundreds if not thousands of low level mooks, particularly if they’re silly enough to use magic against her. Numbers Might eventually overcome the difference, but how many people are you willing to lose on that assumption?
And Kaylin herself still has the ‘Bloody Carnival’ Legendary skill from the Strongest of Talithar arc, which apparently grants an attack boost for every mook she kills; she’s actually stronger when getting dogpiled by mooks.

Was there a reason they can’t say she’s the avatar of the moon goddess who just happens to look like a dark elf anyway?
I like the idea of Nyna marking Kaylin in more ways than one…

Eh…Royalty or even high nobility might be a bit of a hard sell because there’s too many inconsistencies that can be picked up on.
Eg, if she’s an elven princess, why is it that her only formal wear is locally made to this kingdom? Surely visiting nobility would have had her own formal attire for political events and would not have to rely on a rush job by the local tailors.
Or why is it that she seems so terrible with names and recent events? Noble egos notwithstanding, keeping abreast of both should have been so drilled that they should almost be reflex to anyone in high nobility, both the heirs and the ‘spares’ alike. So pivoting to being ‘third in line’ or anything of the sort wouldn’t explain the discrepancy at all.
And for a princess especially, why is it that her apparent retinue seems so sparse and cavalier about her safety and decorum? If she’s in line for the throne, there’s no way they’d allow her to potentially cause an international incident by gallivanting about on rooftops and terrorizing the local nobility.
Point being that yes, Kaylin is a damn good liar, but “princess” is a hard-mode lie with a lot of loose threads that can lead to someone observant quickly unraveling it.
More believable would probably be that she’s the captain of the [fictitious] princess’s guard and acting as envoy, with part of her “mission” being to ascertain whether her charge could safely visit.
“You DARE question the ways of OUR nobility?! …fair enough. I don’t know. The King, aka Dad, never put emphasis on that stuff. Wasn’t until I left that I found out that was ‘normal’ other places.”

Wait. That’s illegal. (There are some lies you shouldn’t tell- especially when the moon goddess is real, and watching)
Guess it’s time to make a Dark Elf empire in the meantime!
Empire of 1 is still an empire.
It does reduce the risk of rebllion.
Does it? How often do you sabotage yourself?
About every 4 years In November!
