let her sleep ! let her sleep damnit !
An interesting bit of culture conflict. Creatures that lack a need for genuine sleep probably would be confused by etiquette creatures that do sleep would consider a given – and how grumpy they can get if sleep is denied to them.
Can confirm, i can get VERY grumpy if i don´t get enough sleep…
As an autistic, that problem is not unique to fantasy worlds. There’s no telling how many anxiety attacks I’ve witnessed because “it’s my right to keep the tv on at night!”
Happy (almost) New Year!
If they’re going to wake her up the least they could do is have a cup of coffee ready. I think at least we saw Kaylin make that once.
While I can understand the base confusion, sorta feel it’s the kind of lesson that would only need taught ONCE>
If it’s completely (or close to completely) alien to your culture, you live a very long time and don’t get to go out and sample other cultures much, the adjustment might take some time.
Which is not to say I don’t think they’re being rude, but I can understand why it’s confusing for these young elves to see someone they have known as an adult for a good long time to display behaviour they only associate with baby elves.
