Dragons can be both incredibly fun, and incredibly difficult to draw… They have a humanoid form, but I would feel super cheaty if I just went right to humanoid appearance.

BLUE-EYES WHITE DRAGON

I don’t mind a dragon in a humanoid form, if it makes sense for the dragon to be in one.
If the dragon has no reason, then he shouldn’t take that form.
An in this case? Even if Kaylin is with them, he doesn’t know the others with her and a dragon has to get some respect. The natural form guarantees some respect.
Even if it’s just the respect not wanting to get roasted.

Dragons get a LOT of variation in how they are drawn, so there’s practically no “wrong” way to do it! Likely by purpose, the most striking part of Ruindar is that glowing eye – it almost looks embossed out of their head on a separate layer, though I suspect that’s just a trick of the lighting and edging it. If I had to critique anything about it i’d say the wings feel too tiny/dinky in the first panel compared to the seemingly beefy body, and in the last panel the face/snout feels a little… smooshed, short? But again, dragons can be what they want. Looking a second time, it’s hard to tell if the ‘eyebrows’ over the eyes are meant to be fluffy or just a scaly ridge – it sorta looks like both?

Beyond that, Kaylin’s “this is just the way things work” attitude is clearly shocking the non-adventurers present. I imagine Kaylin feels a certain lack of danger due to familiarity and remembering Ruindar, possibly with a past friendship… but it HAS been 300 years. Bravado and presentation or no, Kaylin should /probably/ be a smidge more cautious.

… That said, it was mentioned SOME Dragons can be both bosses and quest NPCs. Has Kaylin ever FOUGHT Ruindar – does she think she could take him solo, if she needed to? If she’s beaten him before then that’d explain her relaxed attitude even more… though the casual relationship suggests it would have been a “test your strength” style of friendly battle or something similar.
