So- Correndel and Keilia basically deserve each other in terms of having incompetent boss/worker relationship but all the people affected by it- don’t. You can probably guess that Correndel appointed Keilia to her position for certain reasons- but- if you are thinking how I expect you are – you are wrong! More on that soon- hue hue hue – but also Correndel didn’t really appoint anyone as High priest. He just spoke to who was there at the time when he had something to say- and the temple appointed her as the high priestess… Soooo- Oops? XD “She is the chosen one!” “Uhm, I was just there-” “And you were CHOSEN!” “I mean- I guess?” “THE CHOSEN ONE!” “I- I’m- I’m special?! Daddy was wrong!” “The Chosen one has problems!”

I’d imagine Correndel ‘chose’ Keilia because she listened to him attentively.

So Correndel has a tendency to go off script, or not even have a script and fumbling through his oracles, and Keilia has a tendency to pick and choose and make her own interpretations. Even without malicious intent that could never go right.

At this point I suspect Kaylin is going to need another sit down and talk with Correndel (and maybe Keilla) to actually get things worked out. Maybe Correndel will get the diety equivalent of a level out of cleaning this whole mess, at least I hope he does.

If Keilia just happened to be there, often enough for coincidental contact to keep happening… it makes me curious why she was hanging out at Correndel’s temples. At this point I think it’s been established she doesnt really have ulterior motives, but it means she was frequenting visits there before she became Correndel’s “main point of contact” as it were. That bit of history may not change much now, or alternately it could suggest some lingering business for her… whether it’ll matter now or not. Maybe she was ‘dropped off’ there, or maybe she was sent there to ‘stay out of trouble’… the latter would be particularly ironic, given how events turned out!

The hope in this moment though, is that Yunn spelling things out clearly will somehow break through Keilia’s denseness… and NOT backfire. As much as we’d all probably like to see Kaylin get involved (and we expect she WILL hear Lyrestra’s side of things by the end of the chapter!), right now this is better handled between priestesses.

At least until someone else gets involved. We still don’t know for sure that someone else isn’t taking advantage of the void that Correndel and Keilia have left. And we probably haven’t seen all of the fallout from Correndel’s complaining either. He said that Lyrestra hates him, now – it’s probably for more than just their restricting naked bonfire nights.
