Heh, while site was down I found another LN/WN thing called The New Gate. This page specifically reminds me of that. (Online game, turned death game, then all the players logged out, except the guy who beat it gets sent into a world where the game is more like reality and it’s been 500 years since he beat the game…with quite the mess that happened right after all the players logged out. It’s pretty funny how the lowest unit of currency from before is enough to set you up for life when he gets back. And how top-tier things just get listed off like they’re nothing and people who aren’t used to it just go “Wha…”)
(Not saying this isn’t fun, or unoriginal, or anything like that. Just suggesting a possible reading if you wanted something else along those same lines. (Of course, you’ve probably already read it, and not a translation, but eh….))

In New Gate there are also players that died during the death game that turned up later after the game became reality. So Shin isn’t the only former player there.
