Statue of Night – 12

Statue of Night – 12 published on No Comments on Statue of Night – 12

For anyone confused by this, in D&D a Gorgon is a metal like bull (originally it was a magical beast with plates like metal and now its seen more as a living construct). Rune Aria, the game they are in, uses a lot of things from D&D and other fantasy games to make up the world and creatures. The choice to use the Bull over the traditional Medusa has to do with a lot of game’s using Medusa type Gorgons – but calling them Medusa! Which, D&D also did, but a lot of games have done it too. Many games mix up Gorgon/Medusa so much that honestly- it doesn’t really matter anymore, it’s just something for nerds to argue over… Which is why the Gorgon group in Rune Aria use a Gorgon (Snake Woman version) as their symbol, it’s a nerd protest name against the use of Medusa to mean Gorgon and Gorgon being a creature misrepresented as a Gorgon… Wait, i actually didn’t even explain that bit… So, no no, I’m not going to do all that. There was a bull like creature that spewed fire from it’s nose and had metal hooves or something and it had a complicated name and at some point something happened and someone called it a gorgon and everyone was already calling the other gorgons medusa anyways and HERE WE ARE!
